"An Extended Look" premiered August 27 on Netflix
The wait for Trailer 3 is over. Rockstar called it Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, and it premiered Thursday, August 27 at 3:00 p.m. ET on Netflix — 8:00 p.m. BST and 9:00 p.m. CEST. Netflix described it as a first-of-its-kind partnership, with subscribers getting the first viewing.
Reporting from GameSpot said the footage would also reach Rockstar's own YouTube channel at 9:00 p.m. ET the same day, six hours after the Netflix premiere. It was the first substantial new footage since the second trailer in May 2025. Rockstar also released fresh artwork of Jason and Lucia alongside the announcement, which fans picked apart immediately — the clothing in one piece fuelled speculation about surfing as a traversal or activity mechanic. That remains speculation, not confirmation.
Release date locked: November 19, 2026
Rockstar Games and Take-Two have reaffirmed the November 19, 2026 launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. After two delays, this date now appears firmly locked.
On Take-Two's May 2026 earnings call, CEO Strauss Zelnick ruled out any further postponement: "I think we've been really clear that we're releasing the title on November 19." The company has since built its guidance around that launch, projecting roughly $8.2 billion in revenue for the fiscal year — a number that only works if the game ships on schedule. That financial commitment is the strongest signal yet that the date holds.
Pre-orders and pricing
Pre-orders are live. The Standard Edition is $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition is $99.99. Rockstar opened pre-orders alongside new screenshots, cover art and the Ultimate Edition reveal.
Still no PC version at launch
GTA VI ships on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. No PC version has been announced for launch day. Rockstar has followed a console-first pattern before — GTA V arrived on PC roughly eighteen months after its console debut — but the studio has confirmed nothing about a PC release this time. Anyone planning to play on PC should assume a wait of unknown length rather than a specific window.
